The GROUND GUARD is a compact system that not only impresses with its ease of use. It provides a reliable remedy for the complex issues of potential equalization and earthing interference.
Due to the different current and power consumption of hi-fi components, interference currents are generated that enter the signal path directly via both the power and signal connections.
The GROUND GUARD detects even the smallest of these currents and interference, organizes them and thus protects the entire current flow. It creates the basis for secure transmission of the music signal.
NO TRANSMISSION OF INTERFERENCE FIELDS
High-frequency radiation from the environment (e.g. WLAN, mobile telephony) and electrical interference fields caused by power supply units or transformers in the hi-fi components also have a disruptive effect on the sound.
The BIDIRECTIONAL BARRIER prevents the transmission of these interference fields between the individual hi-fi components. Important parameters such as tonality, dynamics and spatial imaging are retained.
BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE
In the HiFi devices themselves, electrical interference fields are generated by power supply units, transformers, etc., which are located in the immediate vicinity of the signal-carrying components. In addition, the different power consumptions of the individual devices cause potential equalization currents that damage the sound. These are distributed to all devices via the cable connections. Furthermore, high-frequency interference from the environment radiates directly into the signal path of the devices via the cables and device housings and significantly impairs the playback quality.
Established solutions and their limitations:
In order to protect the sensitive audio signal inside the devices from interference, the developers of high-quality devices use particularly low stray field components or shielding housings to keep the interference fields inside the devices as low as possible. Mains filters and mains generators help to keep the external interference fields fed in via the mains away from the device. However, the internal interference fields produced by the device itself, which are located close to the audio signal, cannot be eliminated in this way.
High-frequency interference fields that radiate into the signal path from the environment via the housings of hi-fi devices and cables are not even detected by upstream filters.
Previous ground solutions reduce potential equalization currents by discharging them to protective earth or a common central earth potential. However, such ground solutions do not have any bidirectional connecting cables that would prevent the transmission of interference fields between the audio devices.
In addition, any discharge to protective earth opens another window through which interference on the protective earth can enter the audio system.
